The challenge
Employers struggled to find evidence, practical tools, events and guidance in an outdated platform. The service needed a clearer structure and a more useful path from information to action.
What I did
- Ran staff workshops and employer interviews to identify the decisions people were trying to make.
- Defined user needs and three core journeys, then tested the information architecture through card sorting and tree testing.
- Iterated four prototypes through fortnightly usability sessions and stakeholder show-and-tells.
- Redesigned the homepage, event discovery and case-study structure around clear next actions.
What I took from it
Public health guidance only helps when it survives contact with real life. Research included employers beyond ideal office conditions, including people in rural areas dealing with transport, infrastructure and connectivity constraints.
